Dr. Stephen F. Drozda, Ph.D.
Dr. Stephen Drozda earned his doctoral degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and interned in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. As a psychologist in the U.S. Army, he directed a drug and alcohol abuse treatment program overseas and served at Army hospitals in the U.S. and Japan. He served as a consultant to a community mental health center and operated a multi-disciplinary group private practice in Oklahoma City before moving to Denver. There he has directed the mental health departments of a large staff model health maintenance organization and an urban general hospital. He has also served as clinical director for residential treatment programs for youth with severe mental health and behavioral disorders. His clinical interests include applying evidence-based treatments to client problems, conducting psychological evaluations for clinical and forensic cases and providing clinical supervision. Experience and an interest in working in medical settings with elderly and disabled individuals drew Dr. Drozda to work with Southwest Cares. In addition to maintaining a private practice, he teaches courses in a graduate counseling program.
