Carmine Marotta
Co-Founder and Director of Operations

Mr. Marotta began his work in human services while attending Manhattan College in New York as a psychology major.  His work as a house manager for Westchester ARC, Opengate, and Special Citizens introduced him to the budgetary challenges of providing uncompromised and compassionate care based on Medicaid reimbursements. He was inspired by the unflinching dedication of his affiliated clinicians in spite of their financial struggles and sacrifices stemming from Medicaid reimbursement rates. He became interested in the prospect of reconciling the challenge of adequately reimbursing clinicians while providing the highest standard of behavioral healthcare based upon anticipated Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates.

Mr. Marotta transitioned to private industry in 1994 and honed his expertise in organizational logistics, budgetary and staff management and finance. It was during his tenure as Director of Finance for a multi-state security company that he decided to return to human services. He was fortified with the belief that provision of excellent healthcare need not require unwanted personal sacrifice.

He returned to behavioral healthcare in 2006 as a founding member of Southwest Cares. As Southwest Cares Director of Operations, Mr. Marotta has created a respectful and effective management style resulting in an efficient and motivated operations staff.  Under Mr. Marotta’s leadership, Southwest Cares has built and maintained a vibrant, professionally gratified and exceptionally skilled clinical team that serves hundreds of individuals weekly.
