Crystal Hurndon, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Crystal Hurndon is a licensed clinical social worker currently based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She earned her Master’s of Social Work in Gerontology from Howard University in Washington, D.C in 1995. She also graduated from the Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington, D.C. in 1990 and maintained a private practice as a massage therapist for many years in addition to her schooling and positions as a social worker. Hurndon has extensive experience in direct patient services, case management, and a clinical supervisor throughout her career.
Hurndon enjoys working with a wide variety of populations. She’s worked with adults with cognitive deficits or physical disabilities and provided a variety of clinical services for dually-diagnosed (and in some cases triply-diagnosed) clients. She has also worked extensively with children and families throughout her career, serving as a Child Protective Services Social Worker for five years in Washington, D.C. She spent another five years with the Health Services for Children Health Care System in Washington, D.C., performing assessments, coordination of biopsychosocial needs, discharge planning, crisis intervention, for pediatric patients and children with special needs. Hurndon has also worked extensively with geriatric populations. Immediately upon graduation, she worked with geriatric populations at the Congress Heights Center for the Prevention of Homelessness and the local county geriatric mental health program. Throughout her career, she also worked with geriatric populations with home health agencies, hospice care organizations, and, now, with Southwest Cares in nursing homes and assisted living facilities in Las Cruces, NM.
